Shavertown, PA

Where we live and serve

Our community action committee serves Shavertown, PA.

About our CAC

Currently, we have three members including a retired Occupational Therapist with Parkinson’s, a retired oral surgeon, and a caregiver. We would like to expand our network to include professionals from the field of medicine, neurology, hospital donors, and rehab staff.

Our “Why?”

Currently, our community experiences a lack of…

  • General community awareness and knowledge of Parkinson’s
  • Access to Parkinson’s healthcare specialists

Our Healthy Parkinson’s Community Vision

  • Increasing awareness and knowledge of Parkinson’s in the general community
  • Increasing awareness and knowledge of Parkinson’s in the field of healthcare
  • Increase awareness and access to existing resources and programs relevant to Parkinson’s (Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and speech therapists trained in Parkinson’s Wellness Recover, Big and Loud, and the Parkinson’s Voice Project)
