Where we live and serve
Our community action committee serves Shavertown, PA.
About our CAC
Currently, we have three members including a retired Occupational Therapist with Parkinson’s, a retired oral surgeon, and a caregiver. We would like to expand our network to include professionals from the field of medicine, neurology, hospital donors, and rehab staff.
Our “Why?”
We need greater community awareness and health professionals to provide services, including a movement specialist neurologist.
Our Healthy Parkinson’s Community Vision
Our community aims for better treatment and increased care for people with Parkinson’s, especially with the goal of increasing awareness of drug interactions for people with Parkinson’s. We can leverage current support in our community that includes Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and speech therapists trained in Parkinson’s Wellness Recover, Big and Loud, and the Parkinson’s Voice Project.
With Davis Phinney Foundation collaboration, we look forward to sharing experiences with other Healthy Parkinson’s Communities members and the administrative support to work towards our mission.
