Where we live and serve
Our community action committee (CAC) serves the Baton Rouge area in Louisiana.
About our CAC
We currently have 10 members with representatives from the medical field, neuropalliative care, city and Parish government, local churches, and people with Parkinson’s, particularly those utilizing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) technology. We also offer two support groups and enjoy a melting pot culture in South Louisiana.
Our “Why?”
Currently our community experiences a lack of…
- Knowledge and awareness about Parkinson’s
- Access to Movement Disorder Specialists or even general neurologists for the underserved populations of our city
Our Healthy Parkinson’s Community Vision
- Improve Parkinson’s health care for every single person
- Improve general awareness among all factions within our metropolitan communities
- Define the needs of all and assist in the development of programs to address needs
