Get the training you need to engage the Hispanic Community
Earlier in 2023, we launched our Hispanic community engagement program as part of our Healthy Parkinson’s Communities™ initiative. This initiative focuses on collaboration, community leadership, and cultural sensitivity to ensure Hispanic people affected by Parkinson’s have access to resources needed to live well. A significant part of this work includes training, advising, and mentoring the individuals and organizations seeking to start or expand Hispanic community engagement in their communities.
This is where our Hispanic Leadership Conference comes in.
We will host our first Hispanic Leadership Conference in Phoenix, AZ, from November 30 through December 2 and are currently accepting applications for attendance. This conference is designed to support community leaders committed to Hispanic Parkinson’s community outreach. Whether you are new to this community or looking for ways to build and expand your work, you may want to consider applying to attend.
This event is ideal for you if you:
- Have researched and identified a need for Hispanic community engagement in your community but aren’t sure where to start
- Have started connecting with the Hispanic community through partnerships or relationship-building but aren’t sure what to do next
- Have started a program or resource for the Hispanic community but need help to bolster participation
- Have a strong existing Hispanic engagement program/effort in your community and want to build your knowledge and network to expand it
Attendance is free and travel grants are available on a first-come, first-served basis to help offset travel expenses. If you and/or another community member would benefit from attending, we encourage you to apply.
